Tired of always taking the same old route? Check out our ideas below for a variety of interesting and scenic walks.

  • North Berwick Law: For beautiful views of East Lothian and the Firth of Forth, and a chance to see the Exmoor ponies, take a walk up North Berwick Law.
  • North Berwick West Bay to Gullane Bents: Enjoy a scenic stroll along the coast and end up in Gullane, a picturesque village with a stunning beach and a bus service allowing you to return easily to North Berwick.
  • Milsey Bay to Canty Bay: Start your walk on Milsey Bay and head east. Just before you reach the end of the beach, head up to the viewpoint at the top of the cliffs past the Glen Golf Club. Make your way along the top of the cliffs and down to Daisy Island, then along to Canty Bay.
  • North Berwick to East Linton along the John Muir Way: This section of the John Muir Way (named after the man known as “one of the patron saints of 20th Century American environmental activity” and who was born in Dunbar) is a peaceful walk along quiet tracks and country roads. Perfect for a tranquil afternoon.
  • North Berwick Lodge to the Harbour: Stroll through the Lodge Gardens then make your way down to the harbour and out to the end of the rocks for fantastic views of Bass Rock, Craigleith and the Isle of May.
  • Through North Berwick Glen and along Milsey Bay: Wander through the wooded North Berwick Glen and then take a peaceful or bracing (depending on the weather!) walk along Milsey Bay.
